- “This book turns an average waiting room experience into a transformative and educational journey, not to mention a bonding experience.” [Student Doctor Network]
Have you ever waited in a doctor’s office and wondered why it takes so long? In this book for children ages 3 to 8, Lucy Elizabeth Brown tells the story of waiting for the best doctor in her town. Through adorable illustrations, children learn the importance of patience and empathy at the doctor’s office.
The author, Dr. Sarah Carroll Smith, DO, is a board-certified family medicine physician, mother, and writer, who lives in Florida with her husband, two sons, and adorable rescue chihuahua. The book is illustrated by Giao Williams, an illustrator and graphic designer who has enjoyed “making pictures” since she was a child, and who currently lives in New Jersey with her husband, two daughters, and rescue hound.
The book is published by Pager Publications, Inc., a 501c3 nonprofit publishing house founded by Ajay Major, MD, MBA and Aleena Paul, MD, MBA in 2015. The organization strives to provide students and educators with dedicated spaces for the free expression of their distinctive voices.
